Letter from the Leadership
Welcome to week 48 of 2025
Dear Church Whānau,
We continue to be blessed by the messages that are being brought to us each week. This week, we will hear from the Meyers about their work in Bangladesh and some opportunities to serve there. There are also opportunities to serve locally. My daily readings are currently taking me through the book of James, where James tells us that faith is displayed through the works we do. As you reflect on the messages of the last couple of weeks, and as the Holy Spirit prepares you to hear Sunday’s message, I encourage you to consider what the Holy Spirit is calling you and GBC as a church to do next, whether local or further afield.
As we approach the advent season, we will start to focus on the gifts of hope, peace, joy and love that God sent us in the form of Jesus. In the theme of mission, I encourage you to consider how you can help bring the message of Christmas to your family, friends, and neighbours.

This week we are grateful for:
- Our preachers who are responding to the Holy Spirit and bringing messages filled with love and encouragement.
- the approaching Christmas season, now less than 5 weeks away.
- EJ and the leaders who teach our children on Sundays and put on the Light Nights that bless our community children.
This month we will pray for:
- the Pastoral Search Committee and our new Pastor
- the GBC and GAT Boards as they continue to tackle the operational life of the Church.
- Wellness for all.
- Our various serving teams and ministry leaders at GBC.
- The Oscar Staff as they go through this time of transition.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for the Pastoral Search Team. After prayerful consideration, the team has decided not to move forward with the first candidate interviewed. We now have another candidate soon. Please keep praying for wisdom, unity, and discernment as we continue seeking the pastor God is preparing for GBC.
