Rooted in Christ, growing together
about us
We're a diverse bunch in Glenfield, learning to follow Jesus together. Not because we have it all sorted, but because we're held by His grace. Join us as we grow in faith and serve our community.

Living the Gospel in Glenfield
about us
Who We Are
Glenfield Baptist Church is a multi-ethnic, intergenerational family journeying with Jesus.
Our life together is shaped by Scripture, worship, prayer, and shared leadership.
We are ordinary people learning to follow an extraordinary Savior, growing together as disciples and seeking to share His love in our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and beyond. If you’d like to discover more about how our journey began and how God has guided us through the years, you can read our story.
Discipleship
Discipleship happens both on Sundays and throughout the week in discipleship groups and age-specific ministries.
We believe that faith grows best when it is practiced in everyday life:
-
around the dinner table
-
in homes and workplaces
-
in schools, sports teams, and community spaces
-
and wherever God calls us
Our hope is to nurture faith that is lived, shared, and passed on across generations. We long to be a community of belonging, growth, and gospel-shaped mission.
Community Connections
We see ourselves as part of something much bigger than our own congregation. Through Glenfield Action Trust, hosted congregations, and strong ties with the Baptist movement — including the Northern Baptist Association, Arotahi, and Carey Baptist College — we stay connected to our local and national communities.
We are committed to practical service, hospitality, and generosity, believing that the good news of Jesus is expressed not only in words but also in compassionate action.

Our Journey Forward
As we navigate this season of transition, we are hopeful and expectant — seeking to follow Jesus faithfully into the future He is preparing for us.
This looks like:
-
listening well to God and one another
-
praying together for wisdom and courage
-
discerning fresh ways to serve our neighborhood
-
stepping forward in faith rather than fear
We are convinced that the best days for our church are not behind us but ahead of us.
