Three people, two men and an older woman, pose outdoors amongst lush green foliage. One man in a striped shirt has his eyes closed and is smiling, while another man peeks from behind a dark wooden post, with the smiling woman's hand on his shoulder.

Overview

Legacy walks alongside adults with intellectual differences, offering them a real home and community in Glenfield. Sharing life, building independence, and helping each person flourish as someone deeply valued by God. A quiet, meaningful work that’s been part of our church’s story for years.

A Home for Life

Legacy is a quiet but powerful ministry of the Glenfield Action Trust, creating supported homes for adults with intellectual differences. Building a life filled with genuine connection, dignity, and belonging right here in our Glenfield community.

The heart of Legacy is to see every person flourish in a place they can truly call home. This looks like:

  • Shared living in a safe, supportive family-style environment
  • Building life skills and growing independence
  • Meaningful connection with the wider community
  • Being known, valued, and cared for as a whole person

How Legacy Works

This isn’t a facility; it’s a home. A small number of residents live together with dedicated support, creating a natural family atmosphere. The focus is on everyday life – sharing meals, building routines, and enjoying simple moments of friendship. It’s a practical outworking of our faith, showing God’s love through stability, respect, and companionship.

Our Heart for the Future

Legacy represents a long-term commitment. We walk alongside residents and their families, providing not just housing but a lasting circle of support. It’s a humble, Christ-centred response to a very real need, and we feel privileged to be part of something that reflects God’s heart for every person to have a place to belong.
