Why We Exist

Our vision as a church is to help people become passionate followers of Jesus Christ. We desire to see people from all walks of life come to understand who the real, historical person of Jesus Christ is and how his life, actions and ultimately his death on the cross represent the ultimate sacrifice removing the barrier between us and God, and allow us to once again experience relationship with the creator of the Universe!

We exist to be:

–       A community of believers, forgiven, undergoing transformation

–       Called to love God, to serve each other, our community, and the world.

–       All through the power of Jesus.

We fulfill this purpose through our 5 G’s

– We Gather Together for fellowship and fun,

Glorify God through our worship and lives,

Give of our time, gifts, and our finances for God’s work.

– To Grow together in the knowledge of God through teaching, and through living life together,

– and to Go; to live among and spread the message of the Gospel to our community and to the world through our lives and actions.

Our Beliefs:

The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Bible, being made up of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, was given through the inspiration of God, who used men to write down his words.

There is only one true, holy and just God, existing in the three persons of God the father, his son, Jesus Christ, the supreme revelation to mankind of the nature and person of God and the Saviour of the world, and in the Holy Spirit, the guide and comforter. He is all powerful, all knowing, and has set in place a plan to save those who trust in Jesus Christ, his Son.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He came to earth and was at the same time completely God and man. Jesus died on the cross for the salvation and forgiveness of sins for those who choose to follow him; a free gift of grace available to every person. He rose from the grave after three days and is alive and working through His Church to establish His kingdom. He will return to earth once again to bring judgement.

The Holy Spirit was sent by the father following Jesus’ return to heaven. The Holy Spirit is here convict people’s hearts of sin and to provide guidance, assurance, comfort and wisdom to those who believe. The fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5 are external signs of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Salvation is through faith in Christ only! This is the central message of the Bible. God wants to be in relationship with all mankind. The purpose of the death of Jesus and his being raised to life again is to enable the payment for sin to be fulfilled to appease God’s justice and make this relationship possible. Accepting the sacrifice of Jesus’ death and resurrection as payment for your sin against God is the only way that we can experience relationship with God. The Bible gives us instruction to those accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

Acknowledge you are a sinner in and in need of a Saviour.

Confess that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead.

(Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8, Romans 10:9-10)

Turn from your sin and embrace God’s way for your life.

(Acts 2:38-42, Romans 6:1-2, 12:1-2)

Be Baptised in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit by immersion
